Akbuk is a township that was developed in the early 90's and is continuing to develop just as planned. Most of the infrastructure work in Akbuk has been done, the roads are well maintained, and the electricity supply is due to be upgraded to keep up with the growth.There are height restrictions on buildings in Akbuk,so that the character of the town is not spoilt.

Akbuk is situated on a sweeping sheltered bay,surrounded by mountains, pine forests and beautiful calm beaches. Akbuk is a quiet relaxing resort, that is not as busy as such resorts as Altinkum, Bodrum, or Kusadasi. The harbour offers trips to nearby islands and bays, as well as pleasure cruises and fishing trips. Every Friday there is a local market in Akbuk. There are also shops, bars and restaurants. It is becoming popular and there is a growing community of British people in Akbuk.

Akbuk is approximatly, 70km from Bodrum(Milas)airport, 65km from Kusadasi and 18km from Altinkum. Akbuk is 15 mins by car or dolmus(look for Akbuk Birlik) from Altinkum and well worth a visit.
